Gorgeous image! Crazy to think this is in Lancaster. Not much there.

Behind The Lens

Location
The setting is in a Victorian farmhouse located in Lancaster Ohio. The owner is an antique collector who rents studio space to local photographers.
Time
The portrait session was shot early morning and the sun was captivating coming through the east facing window
Lighting
I wanted to keep the lighting in this photograph simple, using the light coming through the window to give a painterly feel to the image
Equipment
Nikon D750, 24/70 mm lens. No flash
Inspiration
The inspiration for this image is Andrew Wyeth’s “Helga” collection of paintings. His mastery of painting ethereal yet super realistic portraits is mind blowing (especially in the Helga collection)
Editing
I use photoshop to “tweek” the image and remove any unwanted details and to add additional bokeh
In my camera bag
Nikon camera bodies and Sigma Art lenses are always with me when shooting boudoir
Feedback
If there is something you love about an image, study it. Notice the direction the light comes from, the depth of field. The light in an image can make or break a photograph. Study the old school lighting techniques form photographers who shot before digital cameras. They had to plan every detail of the shot in their mind before clicking the shutter.
