This is one of my absolute favorite experimental images. This was taken around 11:00pm one night.Lighting
The lighting is completely ambient light and I underexposed the image to avoid blowout the whites.Equipment
I shoot with a Nikon D750 and a 24-70 sigma art lens. No flash.Inspiration
An Instagram series by Jordi Koalitic. His images intrigued me and I worked for weeks to dial in the right camera combination.Editing
I used photoshop to bring the shadows up in the image but that’s about all.In my camera bag
I usually have two camera bodies in my bag each outfits with 24-70mm and 70-200mm when shooting portraits.Feedback
Underexpose the image to avoid blowing out the neons. Experiment with various reflective surfaces balanced in front of the lens.
