Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at my home. Trying new styles of photographs have always made me to learn more.

Time

Yeah, it's one of my favourite photos. My evening never flew off without a cup of coffee or tea. It's just like I can't live without them. My mom makes best teas and coffees. So one evening, as usual I was having my drink and suddenly I got the urge like " Why shouldn't I try a photograph with this cup and bit of smoke in low light?" Then I went to my room , did the setup and took the pic. It was on February 15th 2023, 8:01pm.

Lighting

I wanted this pic to be calm and low key lighted. So, I thought of giving the focus of light partially on one side making the other side little darker. Thus, the picture will have a high light and low light on either sides of cup.

Equipment

This was shot on my Mobile OnePlus 7 held onto a tripod. Table lamp was used for the light effect.

Inspiration

My days are literally down without a beverage like coffee or tea. I know it's funny but that's reality. Thereby, I kinda wanted to highlight the cup that has enlighten the moods when the days were rough or best.

Editing

Usually, any picture taken needs minor or major adjustments for great impression. Inorder to make the photo look calm and composed, I altered the exposure, contrast, shadows, white and black.

In my camera bag

My mobile and a tripod.

Feedback

Photography is something that is creative boiling inside you which makes you to look what others didn't see or thought of. Initially, thousands of photographs might go wrong or dull or overexposed, it's okay if you've started to take photographs then obviously you're on the right path. Just, don't let the spirit in you to get low. Take more pictures, improvise day by day. Finally, you'll see the miracles of what your eyes found difficult to see but your imagination has already drawn in your photographs.
