STUMP ART is an organic art, made of interesting shaped pieces of wood that I stack. without intention, until I feel it is ‘done’. Then I photograph it from all angles, day and night.
I call all the photos Stump Art, I do not name them individually I want the viewers imagination to be free of suggestion. This allows their minds-eye to find whatever it can in the Stump Art in order to make sense of what they looking at. I have found that no two viewers see the same thing. When they find something that makes sense to them they will want to share what they see. They will point to the different aspects of the Stump Art explaining its part in the whole. Thus, Stump Art hanging on a wall makes for a fun and interesting conversation.

They also make great pictures for t-shirts, bags, coffee cups, or anything you can have them printed on. All are made of natural pieces of wood found in the Cheatham County Wildlife Reserve in Tennessee.
