Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at the Marriott in downtown Grand Rapids Michigan. Right in the front lobby they're was this beauitful wall of green and my beautiful friend and model dawn.

Time

It was in the afternoon, maybe 3 or 4 and the lighting was perfect.

Lighting

It was all natural lighting from the windows that were in front of the wall.

Equipment

I had a Sony a7, no flash, no tripod, and the standard 35 mm lens.

Inspiration

I love plants and being in nature and we were exploring this new hotel that had opened in our city. We dressed up and took photos around the establishment all night.

Editing

I dropped the brightness down, and added the shadow effect of the leaves and features of my model and friend. I also added alittle saturation to make the colors pop.

In my camera bag

Just my camera and a lens.

Feedback

It's not hard to find beauty in a room or in this case a lobby of a hotel. The best thing about art is its yours and people can love it or they can hate it. But they can never take away the memories that made while you were creating it.
