“When anxious, uneasy and bad thoughts come, I go to the sea, and the sea drowns them out with its great wide sounds, cleanses me with its noise, and imposes a rhythm upon everything in me that is bewildered and confused.” – Rainer Maria Rilke

Location
On our walk along the Adriatic Sea in Volosko, Croatia looking at the skyline of Rijeka.Time
A late morning walk with the fog not yet burned off the mountains.Lighting
1 big light ~93 million miles away.Equipment
Shot on a Sony a7iii with a Sigma 150-600mm lens.Inspiration
Looking at this scene I immediately thought of the stark contrast between the chaotic day people were living in the Rijeka skyline and the peaceful outing for those on the sailboat. For me, the fog added a bit of mystery, an unknown around the sailboat which is what I tried to capture.Editing
A gloomy, almost monochromatic winter’s day did not have quite the contrast I imagined when I shot this so I helped it along with a linear gradient removing saturation and haze from the buildings. In my camera bag
Sony a7iii, 3 lenses covering from 16mm to 600mm and plenty of lens wipes.Feedback
