Behind The Lens

Location

Here's an example of what determination can do. This photo was taken in a log cabin in New Mexico that my father built - from cutting down the trees to much of the furniture in the cabin. He pampered himself with a real bed - he takes his sleep seriously.

Time

Taken in the afternoon to get the best light inside the room through the window.

Lighting

It's always good to take multiple shots with different +/- exposure, with and without flash.

Equipment

Canon 80D

Inspiration

I always take pictures of things that are unique to my family. They will eventually be gone, but the photos will remain to be shared by the rest of the family.

Editing

I did minimal post processing by adjusting levels, and then specifically toned down the overexposure in the window.

In my camera bag

My 80D, a wide angle and telephoto lens, extra batteries and a couple of lens filters.

Feedback

Don't mess with "arranging" the room or the items in it. This kind of photo is meant to be a candid look at real life, not a carefully planned photo shoot.
