Sometimes I indulge in vanity. I'm trying to exit from my comfort zone in photography (macro, nature and landscape), so I'm working in portraiture and boudoir. This shot was born as a joke, a selfie to provoke and is taken in my bedroom, at home.Time
I took it in the evening, it was really bed time. I was just laying down, ready to sleep.Lighting
I used the reading light as only source of illumination focused on the dark hair and showing a mid aged face completely naked with marked shades.Equipment
Being a joke, it was just my iPhone. Recent models can shoot great photo. I still prefer my Canon, but it can't compare in flexibility to a smartphone. For me the shoot in my eye and my mind, equipment helps, but never makes the Photo.Inspiration
I was inspired by the contest "Something boudoir", so I decided to shoot something different using myself as a lab rat.Editing
I used the preset portrait with lighting set in my smartphone, nothing done later. I realized that this shot was expressing well enough my provoking intent. In my camera bag
I always have my smartphone in my pocket, and in my bag I have my Canon Eos6d with Sigma 70mm 1:2.8 DG Macro lenses, versatile and perfect for my beloved macro shots, I also have a midi tele 70-300, skylight and polarized lenses.Feedback
Forget your comfort zone, keep playing, focus on your feelings and what you want to express. It can take some time to achieve the result you really want, but the effort you will play, will definitely be worth the trip you are taking. Shooting for me is a way to crystalize my way of life, and my view of the world. I'm always shooting, almost everything.
