Wild grass in a field surrounded by some rather old hay bales. I had been wanting to photograph the hay bales in this field for a few years and was waiting for the right opportunity, however when it finally came around I just loved the way the light was being cast onto the grass and the surroundings and felt this was an opportunity I couldn't miss.

I took this photograph in a field that hasn't been used for years. Its just a short walk from my home and is full of many photo opportunities.Time
I took this photograph around 5pm on my way back from a walk around the woods near my home. I got lucky as there was no wind and the sun had just started to set behind me.Lighting
Golden hour had just began and it cast a lovely soft orange glow onto the grass providing me with some wonderful lighting.Equipment
I took this using a Canon 2000d with a 50mm lens and my Manfrotto 190 tripod.Inspiration

I always try not to use any post-processing unless its for a project which requires something that cannot be done with just the camera. The only post-processing I will do is converting my photographs to black and white like I did with this one.In my camera bag
I carry binoculars in my bag along with a 75-300mm lens for my wildlife photography. I also have a 18-55mm lens and a 50mm which is my favourite.Feedback
Capturing this photograph was on of the moments that you can't really prepare for. I find that going out for walks as often as possible at different times of the day will provide brilliant opportunity's for you to photograph and this also helps you to stop missing opportunity's that I find is easily done when you set off to take specific photographs.
