Behind The Lens

Location

This is a cenotaph called 'Jaswant Thada' located in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India.

Time

Around 11:30

Lighting

The light was accentuated more because of the play of clouds in the sky. The marble structure reflected the light in a more diffused manner.

Equipment

Nikon D 7100 body with a Nikkor 10-20mm VR lens.

Inspiration

Mostly the clouds in the sky and the steps of the cenotaph created a very graphic composition. The sharp lines and edges of the steps complemented the soft rounded clouds.

Editing

Basic - gamma, contrast and brightness

In my camera bag

Two Nikon bodies, Nikkor 10-20mm VR, 20mm prime and a 35mm prime plus a Sigma 50-300mmVR

Feedback

Using a wide angle lens requires a lot of thoughtful inclusions. The optics of the lens covers a lot, so, while it's fun to work with such super lenses it is also important to keep in mind how much field of vision is needed for an interesting composition
