Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken in my backyard, while sitting on my deck.Time
This photo was taken in early evening after a brief shower, and the sun had just broken through the clouds. The Cardinal landed on the feeder, grabbed a sunflower seed then flew the the fence, where I got the shotLighting
It had just stopped raining about a half hour before, so the sun put a nice sparkle on the rain dropletsEquipment
This shot was taken with my Nikon D7500 paired with a Sigma 18-300mm Contemporary lens, 300mm, f6.3, ISO/400, 1/250exp.Inspiration
I love taking pics of wild birds and all wildlife for that matter. Just one of those cases of being at the right place at the right time.Editing
I always shoot RAW image format and post process with Corel After Shot Pro 3. The spot color and light flare was achieved with Corel Paint Shop Pro 2020, with the selective color script and the light flare illumination in the effects menu.In my camera bag
I have a Nikon D7500 as my main camera and a Nikon D3200 as a backup body. My go to lens is the Sigma18-300mm Contemporary, but I also have a Nikon 50mm 1.8, and the 18-55mm kit lens that came with the D3200. A travel tripod, wireless remote, filter kits for each lens, micro fiber lens cloths, and my Altura quick fire camera strapFeedback
If you shoot in full manual mode, take a few test shots with different camera settings with your available lighting and see what you like best. Also be ready to adjust you settings to changing conditions. Wildlife photography is very unpredictable, sometimes it takes a lot clicks for that one perfect shot
