Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in my home town Narvik, in northern Norway. We have this bay where swimming is very popular and the surrounding nature is beautiful

Time

We have sun all day and all night up here during the summer, and when the sun starts hitting the mountain tops by late summer, the skies explode with color. This was taken around 10-11pm

Lighting

The lighting is all natural. Using angild reflector I was able to get some light on the models face. The flair was enhanced in PS, but not added in

Equipment

On this shoot I used a Nikon D750 with a sigma 24-105 i believe, either that or a 70-200.

Inspiration

I had planned to do a sunset / midnight sun shoot with this model for a while, and the light really worked with us on this day

Editing

Apart from exposure and WB, I used the vintage film suite from the NIK collection

In my camera bag

24mm, 50mm, 85mm and 135mm. All primes now

Feedback

Don’t under estimate the suns ability to blow out your images ????. Either use a flash or a reflector to get details in shadows and step down the exposure to suit.
