Location
I spend a great deal of time in Kosciuszko National Park researching the Brumbies. I have been following this Stallion and his mob for over 4 years. He will allow me to sit with them as they graze and I have got to know his little family and watch them growTime
Afternoons are the best time as the sun hits the plains and extends light back to the east.Lighting
I find the afternoon sun allows for better images with this mob and their locationEquipment
I used a Canon 750D with a 55-250mm lens. These horses allow me to sit quietly some 20 feet away.Inspiration
I’m very passionate about our wild horses. The Brumby is our heritage horse who helped build this country, served along side us during 3 wars and is a symbol of the Australian spiritEditing
I do minimal editing. I might sharpen the image or use the dehaze tool to create a clearer imageIn my camera bag
My camera, a couple of lenses. I’m on the hunt for a tripod, however these horses are always on the move so I tend to shoot without oneFeedback
Patience.
