Location
This photo was taken in the Northern End of Currango Plain in Kosciuszko National Park. Resilience is a wild Brumby Stallion that I’ve known for 5 years. He has allowed me to share space and time with him and his little mob over this time. I’ve watched his foals grow up and move on, his love and protection of his family and his increasing trust of me. I work as an advocate for the Snowy Brumby and he is the epitome of their kind.Time
Midday late summerLighting
The lighting in the mountains is forever changing like the weather, due to the altitude light can be tricky, but it’s all in the nature of landscape photography. You make it work and the variance is often the beauty of the imagery.Equipment
I was using a canon 750D with a 250-500mm lens. Hand held.Inspiration
My love of the wild horses and the mountains. This stallion and his family began as my research subjects and became my friends.Editing
I use cyberlink to edit, very little changes to the original image, mainly used for copyright watermark. In my camera bag
Just my lenses, spare sd card, cleaning kit. I often have to hike a fair distance and know my subject, so I travel light.Feedback
Patience is the key. Not every image is worth of publishing. Just the more you understand your subject the better the result
