Location
Taken in my home City Worcester. Its of our Cathedral. I was fortunate to have no other visitors at the time. So it was easy to lay down and take the shot. I like the challenges B&W throw my way. Being a hobbyist I'm learning all the time!Time
I decided to arrive early and took the opportunity of gaining my ticket to photograph the previous day. I asked if it was ok to arrive early and was given permission. I really like how the shot came out, the pillars gave the feeling of how majestic the Cathedral which sits on the banks of the mighty River Severn is. The Cathedral was built 1084 onwards with many additions of the centuries. The cathedral community was regulated along formal monastic lines as a consequence of the Benedictine reforms in the second half of the tenth centuryLighting
I used natural light that was coming from the magnificent stained glass above the northern door.Equipment
My trusty Canon 700D old but still gives me a kick every time I use it! No tripod this time, I rested the camera on the flagstones and held it along with the camera strap to keep it still..Inspiration
Seeing other similar images posted on ViewBug and as I'm just a hobbyist I like to rise to different scene challenges.Editing
A little cropping and contrast adjustment. In my camera bag
What don't I have. Several other lens, several ND Filters, Polarising, lens clothes.Feedback
Patience plenty of that, & use a tripod if permitted.
