Behind The Lens
Location
Taken on the outskirts of Worcester in the UK.,Time
I have travelled this way and on occasions i have seen a few horses in a remote field. They always seemed interested in who was passing. It was about mid-morning so I walked up to the fence and this particular 'fella' came trotting over. He stood and stared at me. I just talked to him softly and he turned his head slightly, just as if he was listening. It was truly amazing moment.Lighting
It was mid-morning and the light was low and the horse was in the shade. Just one of those moments when everything was just right for me.Equipment
I always have my old Canon EOS 700D with me, I think on this occasion I had the 50mm lens on. No tripod just hand held.Inspiration
The horse was the sole inspiration to take the shot. The elements were all with me, the light, the sceneEditing
I tried to crop in close to remove some of the hanging tree branches which I just could not find a position that would not scare the horse. I gave a little more contrast to bring a little more detail to the left side of the horses head!In my camera bag
Always my Canon, a wide angle, a prime 50mm lens, and my favourite 18-135mm.Feedback
Patience and visit any location you are interested in at several different times of the day, you would be amazed the difference in light conditions. Also try and plan for the different seasons too. I'm just a hobbyist and love my camera and learn something different each time..
