I took this photo in my studio. I had to work fast and produce multiple product photos on a tight schedule. I am pleased with how it turned out. The time was against me. The lighting was against me. The background looked bad and was also against me. I did not have time to prepare many things. Harsh light shone right through the big windows and made the model look like glass. The wall behind her was all dingy. I noticed that despite that, light reflecting off that shiny wall made the model's skin glow, and decided to use this to my advantage. I also used thin white paper screen to block off some of the supernova light coming through the windows.Time
4 PM. The sun was starting to set and shone right through my studio's windows.Lighting
The lighting was kind of bad. Harsh setting sun shining right into the windows and on the model. Still, it worked out :)Equipment
As always, I used only my Little Camera, how I call it - Canon PowerShot S95 and old trusty Manfrotto tripod.Inspiration
I wanted to create a certain mood, for the photo to be quite simple and minimalistic and let the product itself really shine, since it was, per se, product photography :)Editing
I have removed the background and converted color palette to black and white. I combined colored and black and white versions to leave only the product colored. In my camera bag
Only my Little Camera. Plus a spare battery. IMHO, few things more irritating than to be ready to take a great shot, only to find out that the battery is dead :)Feedback
Do not fight the environment. Make it work for you. There is no bad equipment or bad photography conditions. That is a myth. There is only a wrong attitude. You can produce a masterpiece with any equipment and in any conditions. Take a good look around you and make those things work!
