In the evening. I used artificial lighting, positioned outside of my lightbox.Lighting
I love to experiment with lighting, creating gradients and colors using only lighting and white background. I call it light painting. I use regular white daylight lamps (5,000 K). This is not my most impressive photo in this aspect, but since ViewBug has picked it, I have to write about this one, not the others.Equipment
I always use my little Canon PowerShot S95 camera, which looks like your typical tourist point and click camera, but can take really cool photos. I believe in developing skill while using simple equipment vs spending hundreds of thousands and not knowing what your gear can really do. I used Manfrotto 055CXPRO3 tripod and three white daylight lamps, as well as my lightbox.Inspiration
First off, I love to photograph crystals and faceted stones. There is something magical in them. Second, I had been experimenting with photographing suspended objects and then deleting the strings, so they appear to float in mid air. Earrings are excellent in that sense, since it's easy to suspend them. These two are actually hanging on a transparent string. The hardest thing here is to make them stop spinning and don't breathe when you are photographing them.Editing
Of course! They wouldn't look very good with the strings still there, would they? Plus general lighting/contrast enhancement. Other than that - no.In my camera bag
My Canon PowerShot S95. I don't carry a bag. I carry a purse. I am a woman.Feedback
Experiment with lighting, make sure you don't reflect in the shiny object - and don't breathe!
