Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was shot on a railroad track in Latonia, KY.

Time

This photo of my grandson is probably one of my favorites. I took the shot in the afternoon, probably sometime between 2 & 3 pm, EST

Lighting

I don't really have anything worth sharing on the lighting because the photo is in black and white.

Equipment

I shot this photograph on my Nikon D3400 and I didn't use any other equipment.

Inspiration

I was attending Gateway Community and Technical College at the time of this photo. Gateway has a literary magazine called Voices and they were taking submissions for b/w photography. So one day, my grandson and I went walking on the tracks and as we were headed back to the car, he was walking in front of me. I was watching him and I stopped and took the photo. I sent the photograph in to the magazine and I won 1st place and this photograph was on the cover of the magazine.

Editing

No, I did not do any post-processing.

In my camera bag

I have extra memory cards and my zoom lens along with my camera and the stock lens.

Feedback

Always have your camera with you. You never know when an opportunity arises for that 'perfect' shot.
