Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in my studio with natural light.

Time

This was actually taken around 10:00am. It was a newborn human session and axel was the big brother so I had to get a solo picture of him! He is a service dog for the Escambia County Sheriffs Office, and a model on the side!

Lighting

I used 100% natural light. I have windows all to the left of him in my studio.

Equipment

I shit this with a Canon 5d Mark III and a canon 1.2 50mm lens.

Inspiration

I love law enforcement and the military-and I like to show my appreciation at any moment that I can. These K9’s work hard and put their lives on the line for humans! This is just a subject I’m very passionate about.

Editing

Yes, but not too much. Basically adjusted curves, hues, and added a matte look.

Feedback

I mainly do newborn photography, but I always find time to take pictures of other subjects that I’m passionate about. It’s easy to get burned out if you don’t remember to make time for fun and learning. I never stop learning new techniques. Never become complacent or stagnant!
