Location
I took this photo on the South bank of the river Thames. I grew up in London but moved to Canada a few years. This was taken on a visit home.Time
It was taken around 4pm. It's always a bustling place to be no matter the time of day.Lighting
The light was a little harsh but perfect for black and white photography. I liked the longer shadows the people were throwing off.it also helped the bridge really stand out in the photograph.Equipment
I used a Nikon D810 with a wide angle lens, the 16-35 F4Inspiration
I have always loved Tower bridge and wanted to get a completely new angle on it. The railing acted as a great leading line, it was just tricky getting so much in focus with one shot.Editing
I edited it in Photoshop and used Nik Silver effex pro for the B&W conversionIn my camera bag
I normally carry my D810 and a wide angle lens for this type of photography. I also carry a 50mm and a 24-70.Feedback
City photography is bursting with possibilities. You just have to step back and look for new and inventive angles on the subject you wish to photograph. I always take a step back and just walk around to see if there are any angles i have never spotted before.
