Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken along Mackerel Cove in Bailey's Island, Maine USA. It is a very popular photo spot, as it is also a postcard you can buy up the road at the Land's End Gift Shop. Just for the note, the post card was not taken by me.

Time

This was taken at about 10 am, the sun was just right.

Lighting

I find that have the sun at my back, makes it much better, especially for reflections.

Equipment

Canon EOS T5 rebel camera, with a 75-300 mm lens. no flash, no tripod.

Inspiration

I have always known about this shack, locally called The Nubble. I grew up, near the area, and can remember going by it in my Grandfather's boat.

Editing

I do, as I have a scratch on my lens, I had to use photoshop, to remove it. other than that, no editing.

In my camera bag

I have my lenses, my batteries, and my camera body..

Feedback

If you are local, you drive all the way down rte 24 from Brunswick, Maine and you will pass this, it is on Private Property, so If you stop, take your photos from the road..Do not climb over the guard rail to walk on beach, as it has protected wildlife and plants. If you catch the property owner home, and out of doors, you can ask permission to go down to it. I, myself, enjoy it from a distance...it's a very iconic Maine thing.
