Location
I took this photo at a city called Oliveira de Azeméis, a place where actually, in the past i didn't think that could be photogenic.Time
I was on my way to the a store on a foggy morning, when my eyes have stopped on this view. Next day I went to this same spot again, but now with the camera with me and an hour before the sunrise. The fog of the day before had disappeared, and instead there was a soft mist over the city. I have searched for a better view and then just have waited for the sun to came up to warm up the city and the tones.Lighting
The side and soft light of the sunrise, with the mist over the landscape, did help to deliver a warm, magic and soft light to the photo.Equipment
For this shot, because of the little light of sunrise, and my need of shapness and detail, a steady tripod was a must, so i have used my Giottos. Then used my Canon 7D with a Sigma 17-50 f2.8. To minimize the shake of the camera i have got the help of a cable remote.Inspiration
The tones and textures of the landscape, enhanced by the mist were what caught my attention and inspired me to make this image.Editing
This image has an hdr treatment. To get all the tones and details i have needed to take three shots... one underexposed, other overexposed and finaly the "right one". Then i have fused all the images with an hdr software. Afted that just have done the usual adjustments, like contrast, vibrance, shapness, some local adjustments, and wb tuning. In my camera bag
I carry most of the time all my lenses, filters, two yn speedlights, cable remote, extension tubes and most important my camera. My lenses are: tokina 11-16 2.8, sigma 17-50 2.8, canon 100mm macro, canon 70-210 f4 and an helios 44m.Feedback
Every place and every trip could be a potential photographic oportunity, so stay sharp to get it! Most of the time, photography need time and persistance, so prepare to be patience and be focused on your objective. And finaly, enjoy the moment and the show that mother nature gives to us! The best thing that a photo can give to you, beside of the memories of when you have taken it, is a history, an experience and good feelings!!
