Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in Milan at Cross Studio. Cross studio is the biggest photo studio in Milan and offer a lot of light settings, included really big windows where you can catch natural light coming from outside.

Time

It was about 10.00 a.m. The light outside was quite strong but a good use of the point of you allowed to have a really soft light on the model.

Lighting

I wanted this light to have this particular mood with natural sensuality. The model really helped me in finding this result. Ankhen Bogomazova is one the most impressive model I ever met.

Equipment

CANON 5D Mark III - 50mm Lens

Inspiration

This shot was taken the first time I met Ankhen. I was really impressed by her natural sensuality and the perfection of her body and i decided to use natural light for all the time during the shooting.

Editing

After the desaturation I only reduced some of the contrast to get a really soft B&W image. I usually keep the natural light of the shot I have in camera.

In my camera bag

Well, when I go out for a shooting I always have my Zeiss Milvus 50mm f/1.4, a CANON EF 24-105mm f/4.0 and a CANON EF 70-200mm f/2.8 IS II USM

Feedback

If you want to gat an image like that you only have to use the window like a really big softbox. You don't have to put the model under a really direct, strong light but you have to choose a point of view where you can have a good quantity of light without any "hot spot". It's really easy to try. If you have a balcony for example, you have to stay on the outside and put the model just 1 or two meters on the inside ...
