Location
The shot was taken at one of my favorite locations near my home. My father had joined me on the trip and we like the clear stars. Somehow there where a little water in the air so the light beams from the lighthouse where visible, which gave a special look.Time
Around midnightLighting
The tricky part is to get details without blowing the beams, so you actually underexpose and tweak the light in photoshop.Equipment
Nikon D3s, Nikon 14-24/2.8 and a tripodInspiration
I have been on this location many times. And done the star trail and daylight shots, so I wanted something different. And I wanted the feel of the lighthouse.Editing
I tried to remove some noise and I increased the contrast in the sky to make the stars pop more.In my camera bag
Canon EOS 5 Ds R Canon EOS R6 Canon EF 16-35/4 L IS USM Canon EF 24-70/2.8 L USM Canon EF 70-200/4 L USM Canon EF 100/2.8 USM Macro Canon EF 500/4 L IS USM And some tripods, filters and other stuff that might come in handyFeedback
Plan ahead and know your location. Be prepared that things do not turn out as you might think. And get there before it gets dark :)
