Behind The Lens

Location

I live in the capital of Iceland and the picture is taken on the other side of the street where my house stands. My wife was taking a picture on her phone of this beautiful sunset and our cat came to her. When I noticed, I ran with the camera and caught the moment.

Time

The picture is taken at 21.30. 22/08/2016 There is often a beautiful sunset in August and September and good to be prepared when the weather is good.

Lighting

Most of my photos are taken automatically, my camera is good to find the correct settings when I take sunset pictures. I focus on looking through the camera. Then I see the light and the frame that I want.

Equipment

I used the Olympus E-M5 with OLYMPUS M.40-150mm F2.8 lens when I took this picture. Had the camera in my hand and found an angle that I was happy with.

Inspiration

I love taking pictures and sunset is always beautiful, along with having a human and cat that represents friendship and beauty from many sides.

Editing

Most often, I do not take my photos and let the camera take care of the settings, but I'm looking at the frame and how the image will be, for example, I wanted to get the shadow and see the phone. I also wanted to get the mountain in a background that is very remarkable:Snæfellsjökull (Icelandic pronunciation: ?[?stn?ai?f?ls?jœ?k?tl?], snow-fell glacier) is a 700,000-year-old glacier-capped stratovolcano in western Iceland.[2] The name of the mountain is actually Snæfell, but it is normally called "Snæfellsjökull" to distinguish it from two other mountains with this name. It is situated on the most western part of the Snæfellsnes peninsula in Iceland. Sometimes it may be seen from the city of Reykjavík over Faxa Bay, at a distance of 120 km. The mountain is one of the most famous sites of Iceland, primarily due to the novel Journey to the Center of the Earth (1864) by Jules Verne, in which the protagonists find the entrance to a passage leading to the center of the earth on Snæfellsjökull. The mountain is included in the Snæfellsjökull National Park (Icelandic: Þjóðgarðurinn Snæfellsjökull

In my camera bag

Olyunpus OMD EM5 Mark II and the pro lens kit from Olympus But I use most Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f/2.8

Feedback

Be patient and look through the camera to find your place try from many corners, think about what you would like to see in the picture.
