Location
It was a warm winter day and I decided to enjoy the weather and visit our local beach. I saw this gull dropping clams in the parking lot and couldn't resist taking photos of it.Time
I remember going to the beach in mid afternoon. I knew that the beach would be quiet and I would have the freedom to move to capture my photos.Lighting
The lighting was perfect, the sun did not shine directly on the gull. The sky was perfect too, not a cloud insight.Equipment
I used a Canon T6i with a 600mm lens.Inspiration
I was inspired to capture the gull because of its determination to crack the shell and have a meal.Editing
The only post processing was cropping my photo. In my camera bag
I usually have my 600mm lens, 400mm lens and a 55mm lens. I also carry a crystal ball to capture unique nature images.Feedback
I have learned to be patience when photographing animals. You may think you have that perfect shot when an animal can totally change the course of action. Most times I sit and when I think an animal is about to move I hold the shutter open for continuous action photos. This photo is an example of this.
