Amazing! Jealous of this opportunity.

Behind The Lens

Location

at Okaukuejo waterhole, Etosha national park, Namibia.

Time

late evening - around 11pm.

Lighting

isn't so easy there, because the waterholes are illuminated with sodium vapour lamps and the difference between light and very dark shadow is very strong. Flash light isn't a good idea, as you can see in the picture, how animals can react and they are really near there ;)

Equipment

Canon EOS 6D, Tamron 70-200 f:2,8 apo lens

Inspiration

If you on Safari, you want to take pictures of big animals and Rhinos are really big

Editing

There is a little processing in contrasts and colour correction.

In my camera bag

EOS 6D, Tamron 15-30mm f:2,8, Canon 28-80mm (cheap one), Tamron 70-200 f:2,8. Sometimes a tripod and a Sky-Watcher StarAdventurer for Nightscaping on stars

Feedback

go to Etosha / Namibia and enjoy the trip. If you will display patience (which means, that if all of the visitors at the evening have left the waterhole and it seems, that nothing is there, you will have success earlier or later. Wait and if you have to wait for the whole night.
