Behind The Lens

Location

This is a photo of Thai model Nessa. Casual studio shoot in Bangkok at Swing Studio Cafe.

Time

Afternoon shoot . Concept was very simple and we finished in under 2 hours.

Lighting

Lighting I used was a beauty dish with grid top center, 2 long gridded rim lights rear left & right and a spot for back ground color.

Equipment

Shot with my Nikon D800 set at 1/200 sec; f/6.3; ISO 100. Lens Sigma 50mm ART Lens.

Inspiration

This was a paid shoot so it was up to the model to decide on what she wanted as far as posing and wardrobe. My job was to deliver on her inspiration .

Editing

Post Processing , basic frequency separation, dodge n burn.

In my camera bag

The equipment I have in my bag will always depend on the shoot , I take only what i believe is necessary for the shoot. I dont like to be weighted down with unnecessary gear that wont be useful .

Feedback

Keep the lighting simple, experiment and move the light around. There are no written rules. Under exposing is better than over exposing but also depends on the look your trying to achieve. Most important is to have fun .
