This photo was taken in the mid afternoon on a very overcast, drizzley dayLighting
The ominous dark clouds that covered the sky defused the afternoon suns light, reducing the harsh light and shadows but still kept a deep contrast, allowing the image to keep all of the detailsEquipment
Canon 70d, held in hand.Inspiration
I was taking my dog 'nitro' featured in the photograph for his daily run and decided to take my camera. My partner at the time was playing with him and at the moment of this photograph I couldn't pass up the opportunity to capture the moment of suspense when a dog is told to stay awaiting for his owner to call himEditing
I use photoshop Lightroom for basic colour correction and clarityIn my camera bag
I've always got my Canon 70d on hand with a canon 18-135mm lense. 2 spare Batteries, multiple sd cards, a lenses cleaning kit, tripod the time of day you choose and gradual ND filters.Feedback
The time of day chosen should provide softened light as not to over or under expose the image. Get down onto your subjects level and almost try to view the world as if you are the angels on their shoulders. Keep the background and foreground simple and uncluttered
