These two aren't actually sisters. They're just models who came to my studio together. This particular image was created as my first choice (see elsewhere in my portfolio for the second choice), but would not print to my liking on my favorite paper, Epson Velvet Fine Art, when I was preparing for an upcoming show at the Jewel FM Gallery (February 4, 2016) in Fresno.
I did not come up with this idea myself. I've been working on a series of images using vegetables, and have long been a fan of "Gabrielle d'Estrées and One of Her Sisters" by an anonymous painter, painting in the style of the Fontainebleau school.
You can find out more by googling the title.
Incidentally, the vegetables used are rainbow chard, which was pinned to a foamboard structure I built for the shoot, a broccolini (background), a mushroom (inside the picture on top of the fireplace in the background), and a butternut squash (bathtub).
