This was taken in our home studio located on Long Island in New York.

Lighting

We use multiple Alien Bee 800s and a seamless background roll.

Equipment

Canon 5D MK I, Canon 24-70 2.8 IS, Camera Stand, Alien Bee 800 lights.

Inspiration

Practicing Pet Portraits with our German Shepherd puppy "Comet"

Editing

Shot in RAW, downloaded to our Mac Pro, sorted in Adobe Bridge, Processed with Adobe Camera Raw and finished in Photoshop.

In my camera bag

Currently, it depends on the job situation but I always have 2 Canon 5D MK IIIs with different lenses mounted on them (wide/telephoto). I always use "L" series glass because camera bodies come and go but good glass is good glass.

Feedback

ALWAYS Focus on the eyes but stop down the aperture enough that you have enough depth of field for the nose to be in focus.
