Rivers are courageous. They risk being over ridden with sediment or plugged by rock dams or potentially even concrete. Rivers posses the strength of life force, they carry on persistently as they wear the mountains to the ground. There endless movement brings tranquility to the moment, their riffles and rapids rich in love as they flow from mountains to sea. Rivers are powerful beyond measure, here Lemolo Falls in Southern Oregon displays the might a river carries with clear visual evidence. Lemolo is a Chinook word for powerful, as seen by the massive plum of spray at the base of the falls. Also visible are the white blooms of Cow Parsnip and the yellow blooms of Monkey Flower, not to mention abundant moss and greenery. Clearly, this is a display of courage and power, love and beauty.
