Good shot. I think with only blue sky and clouds would have given you much better composition if there was possibility to avoid the shrubs.

Location
This photo was taken in Durham, NH at a community cooperative garden. There are both flowers and vegetables being grown in this garden. I make several trips a year to photograph whatever is growing there at the time. I also like to take advantage of the surrounding hiking trails on this old farm estate property. There are surprises to be found every time I go. One day it was a red fox just outside of the garden that caught my attention and of course that's what I focused my camera on that day!Time
This photo was taken around 10am in the morning. It was a bright sunny day, wispy clouds in the sky, lots of sunshine.Lighting
Because of all the bright, natural light the flower colors were vibrant. My point of view was below the flower looking up to the sky, so I did not have to worry about casting any shadows on my subject.Equipment
I used my Olympus TG-4 on microscope setting. I usually have a tripod with me, but this shot was just hand held.Inspiration
I was inspired to take this photo because of the beautiful colors in this flower and the bright blue sky behind it. Because of the short focal length on the microscope setting the image automatically gets a nice bokeh affect with the background.Editing
This particular photo did not get any post-processing. It's always such a treat to capture an image and be able to use and present it...straight out of the camera. This is just such a shot!In my camera bag
I normally carry two cameras, my Olympus TG-4 and my Canon Power Shot SX500 IS. I have a Manfrotto tripod with a joystick head. My Canon is always attached to the tripod and ready for either portraiture or landscape photos, or anything I need to photograph at a distance. I use the Olympus TG-4 almost exclusively for Macro. My kit also contains lens wipes, spare batteries and memory cards, all my power cables and my business cards!Feedback
My best advice is to start looking at things differently. Don't look at your subjects just as a whole; get up close and personal, look at different parts of it, capture partial images, change your point of view and don't always center your subjects. Off center and partial can be quite effective too!
