Location
I took this photo on Bailey Island which is located at the very bottom of Maine. It was such an eerie, but cool place to be.Time
I took this photo years ago, but it was sometime in the morning that I shot it maybe around 6am or 8am. I remember I walked to the dock to relax and just absorb the environment before I had to leave the motel there.Lighting
If anything there was almost a lack of lighting. The weather was cloudy and foggy basically the whole time I was there. There may have been one time when the sun shown extra bright through the clouds, but typically it was filtered light.Equipment
The photo was shot on a NIKON D90 - Aperture f/18 - ISO 200 - Shutter 10/300 - Focal Length 420/10. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
My extended family was visiting Bailey Island to see the house where my grandparents honeymooned since it was their 60th anniversary. We stayed in a motel on the island and it had such a dreary environment every single day. It was always foggy, but it was so pretty to look at and the water gave a calming experience when one was sitting on the dock. I went to enjoy the dock on the morning we were going to leave and I was running back I noticed the boats and as a last thought decided to take a photo. I was not disappointed.Editing
I did not post-process the image. In my camera bag
I used a Nikon for this photo, however I typically just have my olympus camera and two different lens.Feedback
I'm no expert, but lighting is probably important with photographing in foggy or water conditions.
