Location
Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. The West side of the park is kind of "known" for the moose that inhabit the area and this grand fellow is a fine example.Time
It was around 3pmLighting
When tracking wildlife, it is sometimes difficult to manage your lighting...while I would have loved to make the lighting a bit softer, I am happy that I was able to locate the subject at all.Equipment
I use Canon equipment and this was shot with the 40D and a Sigma 150-500mm OS lens. I was almost to close for that lens, kind of a surprise to catch him at all.Inspiration
Moose are my favorite creatures, by far. While they are plentiful on this side of the park, the larger bulls are still a challenge to capture, legally anyway.Editing
Tried to tone down some of the "burned" out spots in RAW, worked out pretty well.In my camera bag
Most of the time I carry my 70D and the 70-200mm F4 lens.Feedback
Patience is quite possibly the most important advice for wildlife. It pays off in the end.
