Location
I shoot this photo at Skogafoss waterfall in Iceland during my 15 days alone photo trip to this magical place.Time
I arrived at the location around 10 a.m. but this image was captured late afternoon since I spend 8 hours at this location.Lighting
During 8 hours I've witness lot of changes in lightning, from very dark and cloudy to nice and shiny day with almost clear sky.Equipment
I've used Canon 5D mark iii with Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM Lens B+W 110 3.0 nd filter, cleaning gear and a shutter remote.Inspiration
Iceland was my dream for the year. Somehow I've got the idea to my head that going to this place will show me if photography is for me. After planning and dreaming for a long time and some obstacles that moved this dream further away I bought a plane ticket and quit my job. After seeing so many great and beautiful photographs of this waterfall, Skogafoss was my nr 1 must location to visit. During my time there I was able to capture this amazing landmark from many angels and different perspectives and this image is one of them.Editing
I always shoot raw so I've started by playing around in Camera Raw. I love black and white photography so I was pretty sure most of my images from this trip would be turned into B&W since it is my favourite type of photography. Then I went into Silver Efex and spend some time playing around with all the presets to make the image the darkest I can get. After that I did some burn and dodge in Photoshop to fix some areas and removed people from the shot.In my camera bag
Usually Canon 5D mark iii with Canon EF 17-40mm and 24-105mm f/4L USM and Samyang 14mm T3.1 Cine Lens, B+W 110 3.0 ND filter and B+W Kaesemann XS-Pro Circular Polarizer MRC Nano filter, cleaning gear, shutter remote, tripod, compact flash card, spare SD cards and batteries.Feedback
Try going to new places and capture something new. Location plays a big role in photography so travel as much as you can. Don't give up easily. Plan ahead and be patient. Just go out there, shoot and have fun!
