This photo was taken at the Granby zoo. I was taking pictures of the giraffes when this one approached me like if it wanted to be photographed up close!Time
The pictures was taken early afternoon on a bright and sunny summer day.Lighting
The giraffe was standing next to a big tree, and from where the sun was coming from, it was shading half of it's body but the whole neck and face were in the sun. So it inspired me to make this picture a black and white, and also focus the giraffe by blackening everything else.Equipment
I used my handy Canon sx40, no flash.Inspiration
When it comes to animals, no inspiration is needed for me. It's an automatic trigger, plus this particular one came really close to me :)Editing
Yep, I processed it to B&W. Also did some dark vignetting and contrast adjustments.In my camera bag

I would advise using a tripod. I would've liked getting even more details out of this pictures. Like the dirt that was on the giraffe body.
