Location
This is beautiful place towards Malshej Ghat, a mountain pass in the Western Ghats of Maharashtra, India. The place is popular among trekkers, hikers and for photographers. The greenery during the monsoon season makes it a romantic place and explore it fauna and flora.Time
I had planned to visit this place with DCP Expeditions through couple of friends. Unfortunately none of them joined due to personal reason. I was in two minds of visiting this place and finally decided to visit and explore photography albeit the heavy shower the previous night. RLighting
Reached the place during the early morning hours with an overcast clouded sky, perfect time to experiment with slow shutter speed. I wanted a real silky milky flow for the waterfall. I decided to push the limit by using Lee Big Stopper.Equipment
To experiment with very slow shutter speed, I used a Benro tripod (borrowed from a friend Amit Rane with my favourite Nikon D600 and Nikon 16-35mm f/4 wide angle lens.Inspiration
My personal tripod head had a mounting problem and was having trouble taking a real slow shutter speed without a loss in focus. However to my luck and in my interest Amit Rane allowed me to shoot with his tripod and that's it. I experimented with my composition and decided with an exposure just right to what i was looking.Editing
I used Lightroom to bring out the detail with the shadow and increased slightly the saturation,In my camera bag
For landscape I'm quite pleased with my Nikon 16-35mm, f/4.Feedback
Carry in an ND filter for slow shutter speed. Work in different composition and explore the options
