This beautiful lady decided to sit down and help herself to a fresh catch for lunch. Notice that she needed to add her foot for an added hold on her dinner. Anybody notice the little speck on the right directly behind her head. When we printed the image, it turns out it's a mosquito. Gotta love Canon and it's lens quality.

Thank you so much! She is a beauty isn't she. We had the pleasure of watching her for two days with her cubs. She was an excellent mama.

This was just as the sun was starting it's downward decent. Summer in Alaska is a brilliant time to shoot.Equipment
Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III, Lens was Canon 800mm definitely with a tripod. No flash.Inspiration
After fishing and feeding 4 hungry cubs this mama bear finally took a minute to enjoy some dinner of her own. She put some distance between herself and the cubs before eating, otherwise, they kept coming to take her catches and she would always let them.Editing
There is a little sharpening, some tone correction but other than that the image is as shot.In my camera bag

Be patient. Be patient. Be patient. You'll be doing a lot of waiting, studying and scouting. Talk to the locals, they always know where the action is happening. When you shoot wildlife, never leave until they do and always expect the unexpected.
