Cape Lookout is located along the Outer Banks area of the North Carolina coastline. Built in 1859 by Keeper John Royal, standing 163 feet tall, the graceful new tower was just over 28 feet in diameter at its base with 9-foot thick walls. It's light can be seen 19 miles off shore! A museum with the lighthouse history is located by the ferry. You have to ride the ferry to get to the lighthouse. Once there, you will find a gift shop and trails along the island. You can even camp on this island!! Which we plan to do next year :) This area is also associated with Black Beard and his crew. It is said he died in this area and his family and crew continued to live here.

Voted - love the color (American spelling for you). Like a harlequin clown!

Sepia tone was a PERFECT choice for this shot; it adds so much to the feel of it.

Thanks, I'm glad to hear your opinion on this! I had a hard time deciding which one to choose. I really like the way the sepia tone made the sky look more dramatic! :) Have a great day!
