This resident of the waters surrounding Bonaire, a type of Ballonfish (aka Long-spine Porcupinefish) can be rather aloof during the day hiding under ledges. When startled and in danger they will inflate like a beachball with spikes that carry a toxin called tetrodotoxin which is deadly to other fish adn humans. Keep your distance, don't touch but enjoy the beauty they add.

Wonderful find and capture!! This is another fish that is so cool! I was lucky to see one once, all puffed up...and yes, I definitely kept my distance and was watching to see what made him puff up!
