Location
The photo was taken in Iceland. There are two big waterfalls close together this is the Selfoss waterfall, the other is known as Dettifoss. It is approximately 11m (36ft) tall but 100m (330ft) wide.Time
This was taken late morning on a dull day. I chose a long exposure by using an ND filter not only to make the water look silky but also to enhance the sky.Lighting
The lighting was soft but rather flat and grey so not the best to create a sramtic image.Equipment
I used a Sony A7Iii with a Sony 24-240 lens and a 10 stop ND filter and a 3 Legged Thing tripodInspiration
Iceland is full of dramatic scenery and this waterfall has a lovely horseshoe shape to it that begged to be photographed.Editing
The photo was processed in Adobe Lightroom. Contrast clarity and dehaze were added. I also did som dodging and burning to draw the eye to the main cascade of water. In my camera bag
I usually shoot with the Sony A7 iii. For travelling i try to take just one lends the 24-240 mm and a carbon fibre tripod from 3 Legged Thing.Feedback
Take your time to find a good spot to shoot from. For sights like this that have been photographed many time you have to try to get something different.
