It would take tourists few days to reach K50 Waterfall by specialized transportation crossing thick jungles of Kon Chu Rang Nature Reserve. The prolonged and crazy journey of crossing dense forests make tourists exhausted. They will certainly be compensated by the imposing and magnificent beauty of K50 Waterfall.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Vietnam which is located at the border between Gia Lai and Binh Dinh in Gia Lai Province

Time

I captured this image early in the morning when the sunlight was not strong. You see, my first trip with a few close friends was pretty rushed and tiring to keep trekking in the jungle. I realized my mistake in such a short time to know this spot well. I need more time for shooting. Therefore, I decided to come back by myself with what I wanted to do. Of course, I brought some food, water and a friend of mine is one of the forest rangers who advised me what I would do and stay overnight by myself in the jungle. I had to stay in the jungle for 2 nights, It rained like a cat and dog all night and It was only me inside the tent. I kept thinking again and again, this place is full of water, mosses, stones, rocks everywhere and very slippery so I had to consider all my camera equipment because I dropped my ND filters from my last trip and I could not get it back in the deep, strong moving water. Next morning, it stopped raining, so I woke up early the next morning to make sure of every my single step before I reached my right spot. I kept coming back and shooting from different moments. Finally, I was happy that I captured this place.

Lighting

No, I'm using the nature light all the time. For me, the most important thing is that I hate to take waterfall with the sunlight because the waterfall will get overexposure from sunlight, especially the Highlight zone. That's why I captured this photo before the sun came out.

Equipment

I used very good tripod, a wide angle and good moments before shooting. I didn't use flash because the sunlight was very fine nature light for me to photograph this waterfall. But I used very heavy tripod to make sure that my shot was sharpening. If not, the photo may be blur because the current of the stream moved very strong.

Inspiration

This photo inspired me was reflection. You know, you can see waterfall all over around the world but I don't see the water with itself reflection. That's why I took this shot.

Editing

I keep telling you that I am always using Lightroom, Photoshop and Camera Raw for processing all my images. I am always using Lightroom, Photoshop and Camera Raw to process all my images, nothing special. In fact, I don't use much Photoshop because I am careful to capture all my shots very well in advance, so I don't use much Photoshop later.

In my camera bag

Usually, I am always taking 2 camera bodies and few wide angle lenses in my bag whenever I got out shooting.

Feedback

My advice is, Keep doing what I really love to do. Just do it. That's it.
