I clicked this photo on the roof of my home.Time
It was winter & I used to sit on the terrace of my roof, sunbathe myself and read a book. However, I always kept my camera handy, just in case something flew by or happened (in terms of wildlife), I could click it asap. It was on one such afternoon I saw an aeroplane flying with rays of dust trailing behind it and noticed that its trajectory would be just beside the crescent phased Moon. I became ready instantaneously and clicked the moment as the aircraft flew past the Moon.Lighting
The evening was about to set in and the Sun had its rays diffused, however the aircraft being at such an elevated levels, its body shone with full brightness. So in all, the light was pretty good.Equipment
the image was shot on Nikon D500 & Tamron 150 600 G2 lens handheld.Inspiration
The months of March till December in the year 2020 was a total letdown for the photographers especially the wildlife ones. It was time for us to re-think and innovate ourselves with new ideas about photography and try new genres. It was at this time while clicking a Pied Starling feeding its juvenile young, I noticed this aircraft with jet-rays crossing the crescent moon and I quickly shot the sky with these subjects in mind and a frame being composed in the brain. I wonder if I could ever flypast or onto the moon someday in the future indefinite but probable and possible tenseEditing
To eliminate the appearance of the sky and bring the viewer's attention only to the aircraft, its trailing dust tails and the overlooking crescent Moon from the image, I converted the image into black and white. In my camera bag
I always have an extra pair of batteries and memory cards along with a lens cleaner brush and alcohol wipes. I also do carry a packet of biscuits and some water usually.Feedback
My town is close to an international airport and is also a few miles far from an airforce base. As a result, I get to see helicopters, fighter & domestic crafts (including airbuses, or the smaller ones). And I grab this opportunity to click these objects in conjunction with other man-made or natural subjects of interest to make meaningful images and add a story with a message.
