To represent the death and life of the Australian bush fires I took some of the most beautiful native and non-native Australian flowers to experiment with smoke and the gradual decay of a flower.
This began the exploration of both the beauty in an ageing flower as well as the need we have in Australia for bush fires. Many flowers can not reseed without the fires. A sun flower does not reseed until it has died.
There is also a beauty in an aging flower I wish to capture. The idea that perfection is unattainable and there is a lot of beauty in aging.
