Excellent vertical image of the lighthouse. In mono, it is even better.

Location
This is the Fire Island Lighthouse on the south shore of Long Island, New York. Took this photo between the fences and the dunes behind me which leads to Lighthouse Beach and the Atlantic Ocean.Time
This was shot about 2 hours before sunset on February 29, 2020 just before the pandemic shut everything down. A cold but sunny day on one of my typical photo walks at the beach.Lighting
The clear blue skies and the puffy white clouds lend to the overall image. The west site of the lighthouse is lit as the sun sets and the brown beach grass was blowing in the light breeze. The dune fencing provides my leading lines to the lighthouse and adjacent Fresnel lens building which houses the original light for the lighthouse.Equipment
Canon 6D Mark II with 24-105 f/4 L lens on a tripod. Shot at 1/60 sec, f/13, ISO 100. Original shot in color and edited in Lightroom for conversion to black and white.Inspiration
This lighthouse and beach are not far from my home and make a great image subject. Quick to get to if you don't have a full day to go on a photographic trip.Editing
Original shot in color and edited in Lightroom for conversion to black and white. In my camera bag
I don't have the 6D Mark II anymore and have since upgraded to the Canon R6 but with the same lens. Also shoot with the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 for astro and portraits and the Sigma 150-600 telephoto for primarily airshows and long away subjects.Feedback
This lighthouse is a great subject to shoot from many different perspective and weather conditions, and year round.
