I took this photo in a little patch of daffodils we came across while out for a walk in our home town.Time
It was taken about 4pm in the afternoon on a cloudy dayLighting
I took the shot from this angle because the light was really flat. I shot it at a super wide aperture of 1.4 so the daffodils would make nice bokehEquipment
I used my Nikon D750 and a 35mm F1.4 Sigma Art lens.Inspiration
My son was wearing a yellow jacket and i thought it would look great amongst the yellow daffodils. My son decided to do the kissy lips himself. He's a bit of a fun loving cheeky chappy.Editing
I edited it in lightroom. I made some basic changes like taking down the highlights and toning down the greens and yellowsIn my camera bag
I use a Nikon D750 and a selection of prime lenses. My favourite is probably my 85mm but I like to shoot wider too to capture more storytelling or environment so I also have a 24mm and 35mm in my bag most days.Feedback
Be intentional when you choose your lens and your aperture settings. And its helpful to explore different perspectives when the light isn't very exciting.
