This image was captured after the dragonfly had emerged from its nymph stage. The dragonfly crawled from the side of the rock onto the top and spread its wings to dry them before taking flight. With my tripod setup I was able to frame and capture this incredeble moment. The membranes on the wings can only be captured in this unique periode of the dragonfly's lifecycle and lasts about 15minutes before it takes flight.
