I took this photo at Paul's studio in Reading, England. Paul organises model days there, and this time the lovely Rachelle Summers was there, and this was one of the images taken that day.Time
It was during the early afternoon between 12 and 1pm.Lighting
The lighting was straightforward two lights, one either side around 45 degrees to the model.Equipment
I used my trusty Canon 6D camera with a Sigma 105mm lens f8, 1/125, ISO 100.Inspiration
Rachelle has a very elegant look, and I just wanted to relax with her. We casually chatted about this and that, and just kept snapping away. sometimes immediately before or after a question or while Rachelle was chatting, when she finished etc. This image came from one of those moments.Editing
Yes, I tightened in with the cropping of the image so there was no background showing, a little bit of sharpening in areas, brightened the eye up a little. All this in photoshop before using a black and white preset in Skylum Creative set (Tonality) and tweeking it there. In my camera bag
For this shoot I kept it simple and had my Canon 6D camera, with a Sigma 105mm lens and the Canon 50mm f1.4 lens.Feedback
Building up a rapport with the model is important, keeping it fun, light and easy so the shoot can just flow along in a relaxed way for me is a must so that any nerves either side can just disappear.
